PGA TOUR confirms online delivery of content through to at least end of 2017
26/08/2015
The PGA TOUR has announced that PGA TOUR LIVE will continue to be the New Zealand broadcast channel of all live PGA TOUR tournaments through to the end of 2017.
The New Zealand-based service launched in January 2015 and carries every round of every official PGA TOUR event.
"We're encouraged by what we've seen with the launch of the service in New Zealand and with the work from the team at Coliseum and Lightbox Sport," said Rick Anderson, PGA TOUR Executive Vice President of Global Media. "We understand the transition to Internet delivered content isn't easy for some, but much has been done in the last six months to improve the transition and the overall experience. We look forward to delivering the same high quality service to PGA TOUR fans in New Zealand over the next two years."
"PGA TOUR LIVE has really improved throughout the season. So we're delighted to receive this vote of confidence from the PGA TOUR," said Tim Martin of Lightbox Sport. "We're seeing a huge increase in overall subscriber numbers as well as in the number of very satisfied customers. This confirmation from PGA TOUR complements the plans we have in place for the European Tour and the LPGA.
"With PGA TOUR online for the next few years at least, it allows us to focus even harder on delivering a great service to New Zealand golf fans. We also remain confident of delivering a free to air schedule that will complement the online service and we expect to make an announcement on this shortly."
