Highest Number of Academy Awards Nominations

THE REVENANT: Highest Number of Academy Awards Nominations.

With 12 nominations, Alejandro G Inarritu’s critically acclaimed THE REVENANT leads the race for the 2016 Academy Awards. The ceremony is Monday February 29 (NZ time) and will be broadcast live on Sky Movies Premiere.

THE REVENANT is currently playing in cinemas nationwide, It is in No 2 position (after Star Wars: The Force Awakens) at the NZ box office.

Here are some quotes from some of THE REVENANT’s nominees:

Leonardo DiCaprio (Actor in a Leading Role)

THE REVENANT director Alejandro G Inarritu and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki triumphed at the 2015 Oscars with their film BIRDMAN taking best film, director and cinematographer. Lubezki also won the previous year for GRAVITY.
