ANZ Dream Big and the BLACKCAPS bring glory days back
ANZ Dream Big and the BLACKCAPS bring glory days back to local cricket club
Yesterday ANZ Dream Big and the BLACKCAPS unveiled a newly restored building to the community of Birkenhead Cricket Club. The restoration was a total surprise to the club’s management and members who had been kept completely in the dark until the reveal.
The ANZ Dream Team and the BLACKCAPS arrived in Birkenhead on Friday to get stuck in with painting the building, fixing the deck, putting together new outdoor furniture, mounting a set of honours boards and setting up a legacy timeline honouring the club’s 118-year-long history, among other things.
The BLACKCAPS who had helped with the restoration included Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Grant Elliott, Matt Henry, Doug Bracewell, BJ Watling, Corey Anderson and Mitchell Santner and they finished off the evening with a fun game and BBQ with the club members and families.
The restoration was part of ANZ Dream Big. ANZ Dream Big will continue to deliver dreams to two more cricket clubs and a further group of netball clubs and Olympic School Sports Days over the coming months.
