Auckland City Limits Launches V Energy Stage Opening Band Competition

The festival is asking artists to submit videos via Radio Hauraki’s website with the leading contenders appearing on watchme.co.nz where the most popular clip will win the coveted slot opening the Auckland City Limits music festival on19 March.

Auckland City Limits’ festival lineup of forty acts already includes hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar, The National, Modest Mouse, Girl Talk, and Fat Freddy’s Drop. There’s just one space up for grabs now.

“We’re looking for a mindblowing act to open the festival,” says promoter Campbell Smith, “and we want to see what people can do in a two minute video to show us how much talent they have and what lengths they’re prepared to go to in order to win this slot.

“We’d like to think that by expecting the unexpected, someone is going to take the format to the next level to win the eyeballs on watchme.co.nz

The competition runs through February and details can be found onaucklandcitylimits.com and the #WINNING section of hauraki.co.nz
