10 Days of Fashion in the Heart of the City is Back for 2016
Auckland’s central city streets, lanes, stores and shared spaces will come to life this February and March, with Heart of the City’s renowned10 Days of Fashion in the City celebration back for the fifth year!
From the 26th of February to the 6th of March 2016, Auckland’s inner-city will showcase itself as the ultimate fashion destination, and the perfect place to fill autumn and winter wardrobes at any budget.
The 2016 10 Days of Fashion in the City event will present visitors to the city with a diverse, inclusive and engaging selection of fashion-inspired events, celebrations and offers. The raft of activities is open to the public and includes highlights such as a launch event at Silo Park, The Fashion Sessions at Britomart, a pop-up store of emerging designers, sustainable fashion markets, The Designer Garage Sale, fashion movies, exhibitions, Fashion High Tea, a whole day of fashion for the men of the city, and exclusive retail offers that will satiate fashion appetites this season!
Also returning to the event calendar is ‘NZ’s Longest Catwalk’ – a one of a kind catwalk show of epic proportions that will literally stop traffic on Queen Street on Saturday 5th March from midday. The 125m-long catwalk will zig- zag up the street, showcasing 40 stunning models wearing over 70 of the season’s hottest runway looks.
10 Days of Fashion in the City indulges the fashion cravings of New Zealand’s biggest city, inspiring the sartorially hungry and presenting refreshing activities to guide them through fashion’s constant reinvention. The city’s top designers, retailers, venues and international brands recognise the importance of this time and love to come together to engage with fashion at every level.
