The Artists Open Studio Whanganui Board has a new Chair

The Artists Open Studio Whanganui Trust Board has a new Chair

After many years of involvement with the Artist Open Studios Whanganui Trust Board, Enaj Lee has stepped down as Chairperson. Lee has been an integral member of the organisation, having given many years of service as a volunteer, trustee and more recently as Chairperson. Lee has found that juggling the time commitment required for her new business with the voluntary time commitment required for the Artist Open Studios Whanganui Trust Board was ultimately unsustainable. Lee will still be part of the Artist Open Studios event as an exhibiting artist. Her work can be found at Bricksticks, studio 54 in the 2016 trail guide.

Stepping into the position of Chair is Trustee Ivan Vostinar, a local Artist and business owner who is very active in the Progress Castlecliff community initiative. Vostinar has many years of experience with non-profit organisations and advocacy. He has served as President for both the Christchurch Polytechnic Students Association and the Wellington Potters Association. Ivan has a passion for sustainability and brings a calm rationalism to the Artist Open Studios Trust Board. Vostinar is available to speak to anyone who has questions relating to the Trust, and can usually be found at his Gallery 7 Rangiora Street, Castlecliff. For questions about the Open Studios event please contact the Event Facilitator.

Continuing on the Artist Open Studios Whanganui Trust Board are: Clayton Bunker, a hands on Trustee with many years of involved in the local sporting non-profit sector. Rick Baum, a local musician with networking skills and dextrous typing abilities who lends his skills to the Trust as the Secretary. Jacqueline Brand-Holt, who brings more than 10 years experience working for non-profit sector continues as Treasurer.

With less than a month to go until the event kicks off, the Trustees and Serena Siegenthaler-Brown the Event Facilitator are all hard at work preparing for the official opening on March 11th 2016. This year sees 64 studios and over one hundred artists represented in what is shaping up to be a great Artists Open Studios event.
