Coromandel Open Studios Turns 10!
Coromandel Open Studios Turns 10!
This year marks the 10th running of the Coromandel Arts Tour, since its humble beginnings in 2005. Now known as Coromandel Open Studios, the tour is being held over the weekends 9/10 and 16/17 April and is centred on Coromandel Town. No two studios are more than a 20 minute drive apart, and what’s more, the self-guided tour is FREE!
The participating artists are opening their homes/studios and hearts to you, giving visitors the rare opportunity to see not just the artwork itself, but also to see where it is created and the environment that inspires the artists to create such work. Also, having the opportunity to buy directly from the artist makes your purchase all that more special.
The Open Studios will kick off with an opening and exhibition of a sample of the artists works at Hauraki House in Coromandel Town onFriday April 8th at 7pm.
Please come along and celebrate with us!
Details of the participating artists can be viewed on www.coromandelartstour.co.nz where maps detailing how to locate the artists can be downloaded. Printed maps may also be picked up from The Source in the centre of Coromandel Town at a small cost.
