THe Edge Tv a Hit with Viewers & TV3 Wins Friday Night

As of today, The Edge TV is now releasing viewer ratings - and in the last four weeks more than 1 million New Zealanders have watched the channel (5+ cume).

In its target demographic of 15-39 year olds, the results show The Edge TV reach ahead of MTV and any individual SKY channel, and place it as the seventh highest reaching channel over the last four weeks – drawing in 433,100 viewers (28.3% of 15-39 year olds).


TV3’s
Friday night comedy line-up continues to perform, the channel winning the night in 25-54 and 18-39, with Graham Norton, 7 Days and Fail Armywinning their timeslots in the critical 25-54 and 18-39 demographics.

Adding to their Friday line-up, MediaWorks announced The Friday Story, a panel-based programme that extends Story to five nights a week. The show will offer viewers an informative and entertaining introduction to their weekend, hosted by a rotating roster of Heather du Plessis-Allan, Duncan Garner and others, joined by three panellists for a lively discussion of the week’s events.

On Monday (11th April), for the first time since launch week, Newshub Live at 6pm won its timeslot against One News, out-rating its competitor in key 18-39, 18-49 and 25-54 demographics. On the same day, in 25-54, Story followed this lead by outperforming competitor Seven Sharp, Paul Henrymatched its competitor Breakfast, and Newshub Late out-rated TV One’s Tonight.

On the same evening, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s sugar-tax documentary Jamie’s Sugar Rush won the 9.30pm timeslot in 25-54.

And on radio, last week saw Jeanette Thomas and Robert Rakete begin their local breakfast show on MediaWorks brand The Breeze. Markets that previously took the Auckland show are supplied by the award-winning Steve Joll and Kath Bier, whose show is broadcast from Wellington.
