Romanticism is to the fore as the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra delivers a high energy package of emotive works featuring New Zealand composer Anthony Ritchie’s Albatross in Flight depicting the soaring seabirds found on Dunedin’s Otago Peninsula, German composer Johannes Brahms’ demonstrative and demanding Violin Concerto – performed by American violinist and Concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic Noah Bendix-Balgley: and Austrian composer Anthony Bruckner’s atmospheric Symphony No. 4.
Jessica Cottis returns after a busy 2015 year which took her to the UK (including the Isle of Skye), Australia, New Zealand, as well as Gallipoli. Also in 2015 she was named an Associate Member of the Royal Academy of Music, an honorary award for alumnæ who have made a significant contribution to the profession.
