Rising Voices Youth Poetry Movement, New Zealand’s premiere spoken word programme, brings you the best, boldest and brightest talents of Aotearoa for one night of incredible performances.

The 2016 Christchurch Regional Slam, will bring 10 emerging spoken word artists ages 16-24 to the stage to perform their own original work. Bringing to life stories of their backgrounds, upbringings, and cultures, these poets will create a powerful and passionate night of poetry and performance. This exceptional display of talent is not to be missed.

The Top 3 poets from the evening will travel to Auckland for the Rising Voices Youth Poetry Grand Slam on 22 October 2016 at Auckland Town Hall.

This unique opportunity gives Aotearoa’s young writers a chance to work with exceptionally talented professionals in a nurturing environment before stepping out on some of New Zealand’s biggest stages.
