Coco for Rococo at Auckland Fringe

Black Swan Productions Ltd. presents
Coco for Rococo
Directed/Written by Christopher Olwage

A SALUTE TO THE SALACIOUS

Enter a sparkling world of sumptuous costumes, lavish dances, naughty glances and your money's worth of lace and skin. Coco for Rococo is a salacious look into the lives and loves of the French Aristocracy.

Tongue and cheek stories are woven together using circus arts, burlesque, ballet and contemporary dance to re-imagine the intrigues and trysts of the Palace of Versailles. Chris Olwage (of Black Swan fame and international acclaim) has drawn together NZ royalty and most up and coming performers to produce a spectacle that is hilarious, sensuous and grandiose in scope. With a score that is both classical and contemporary, Coco for Rococo is sure to hit notes that may both resonate and conflagrate its spectators. This is not a show that you'd take your mummy to, though we suspect she might enjoy it.

Chris Olwage (who presented his own solo cabaret show as part of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow) aims to create a show unlike any seen or previously created in New Zealand. It draws upon the rich artistic period of the late 18th Century. The roles casted were carefully considered and given to the only the best!

Natalie Hugil (a.k.a. Lily Loca) - One of NZ’s premiere Burlesque artists and soon to be NZ’s representative at this year’s Hollywood Burlesque Hall of Fame .

Michelle Kasey - a much acclaimed and multi award winning Pole artist, cirque performer and burlesquer

Jodi A. Russell - International dancer, Circus artist and aerialist performer

So, If watching trysts go wrong, men and women undressing, costumes and old world glamour brought to life, then get yourself along to the show. We'll make sure you leave with more than a smile.
