Freezzell 4 Your Community

Freezzell 4 Your Community

Iconic artist Dick Frizzell in collaboration with Cooking 4 Change and Haier is on the hunt for New Zealand’s most deserving charities and community groups as part of the just announced ‘Freezell 4 your Community’ campaign.

An initiative between Cooking 4 Change and Haier, ‘Freezzell 4 your Community’ aims to create awareness of some of our country's most deserving charities and community groups and provide them with a much needed resource in the form of a limited edition, Dick Frizzell exclusively artworked, Haier multi-door HMD440X fridge, either for use in their organisation or as a fundraising tool.

Community groups and charities can nominate themselves or be nominated by their peers by heading to the Haier website and completing the online nomination form. From this, 5 deserving charities or community groups will be selected by a small panel of Cooking 4 Change celebrity contributors and it will then be up to the New Zealand public to vote online to decide who they think is the most deserving to take away one of three Freezell fridges. The winners’ fridges will be delivered personally by Dick Frizzell and/or a Cooking 4 Change cook book celebrity contributor.

Nominations will open on Monday 20 February at https://www.haier.co.nz/sponsorship/2017/nz/dick-frizzell-community/ and close on Wednesday 8 March at 5pm. The five finalists will be announced on Monday 13 March with five days of public voting to determine the winners.

"Haier are proud to have joined forces with Dick Frizzell and the Cooking 4 Change team to collaborate on ‘Freezell 4 Your Community’. We know these wonderful and unique fridges will be of great value to three of NZ’s most extraordinary community groups who work so tirelessly to help improve the lives of every day New Zealanders."
Chris Masterson, Marketing Manager of Haier NZ.

Dick Frizzell has said ‘"I’m chuffed that Haier and Cooking 4 Change are on the hunt to find a community group who could really benefit from a super new fridge. There are so many kiwis out there doing great work within their local communities and we’d encourage the public to get online and nominate. My small part in designing the artwork was really great fun!"

More about ‘Freezzell 4 your Community’
Dick Frizzell, NZ national treasure and Cooking 4 Change co-founder, has designed a piece of artwork exclusive to Haier. The artwork was created as a wrap and applied to the Haier Multi Door Fridge HMD440X. These creative pieces of kitchen art are aptly called the ‘Freezzell Fridges’. Ten fridges were wrapped and each has a signed certificate, and individually numbered stickers of authenticity. Fours fridges have already been donated to the Cooking 4 Change cookbook supported charities, Paw Justice, Auckland City Mission, Starship Foundation and Leukaemia Blood Cancer New Zealand.

Cooking 4 Change, along with Haier, have three Freezzell fridges remaining to giveaway to New Zealand community groups or charities who may be in need of a new fridge and/or where it could greatly benefit their work and help the service they so selflessly provide to local communities.

About the Cooking 4 Change Foundation:
The brainchild of artist Dick Frizzell, his business partner Christian Kasper, and TV presenter Erin Simpson, the Cooking 4 Change Foundation was created to make change happen through awareness, community and education.

Their first mission was to get 101 of New Zealand’s best-loved celebrities to share their secret recipes. Rock stars, fashionistas, actors and directors, business leaders, athletes, and the country’s most powerful politicians have invited Dick Frizzell and his team into their homes to share their favourite culinary delights, and the personal stories behind them. Celebrities featured in the book include film royalty Sam Neill, Antonia Prebble, Taika Waititi, Rhys Darby and Stan Walker; athletes Valerie Adams, Hamish Bond and Eric Murray, and Joseph Parker; media personalities Hilary Barry, Pippa Wetzell, Kerre McIvor and Carol Hirschfeld; fashion icons Trelise Cooper and Colin Mathura-Jeffree; politicians Helen Clark, John Key and Andrew Little, plus many, many more.

It’s not just about famous faces and coconut buns that will blow your mind, though. Cooking 4 Change are on an important mission to work on creative projects to raise funds and build awareness of a growing global problem of people getting access to good food.

With a focus on the key areas of education and budgeting, Cooking 4 Change will also work with Kiwi families to get the most out of tight pantry budgets, and educate them on healthy and affordable food choices. Cooking 4 Change believes food is the fuel of life, and they want to work with you to make sure there is enough fuel to go round for everyone.
