Social fitness is the biggest fitness movement right now and the heyfit app is the best platform to support this movement.
Kiwi company - heyfit, is pleased to announce the arrival of their free social fitness app to the Google Play Store, giving its users the opportunity to create and join their own fitness communities.
Co-Founder and Black Stick, Nick Haig, says "After launching into the App Store in mid 2016 we have been working really hard to get our app to the point where it is accessible for the majority of Kiwis. We see a huge rise in the demand for social fitness and are stoked to give our users the opportunity to create and join their own sports and fitness groups.”
heyfit is providing a platform where users can get together across a wide variety of activities to work out and enjoy exercise together. This may range from midweek run clubs & local park workouts to golf groups or finding an extra person for a surf trip away. It is aimed at breaking down the financial, motivational and competency barriers that inhibit some people from participating in sport and physical activity and to also act as an excellent way to meet new people through common interests.
"We feel there is a real space for people to get back into the routine of working out and enjoying exercise together without pressure or long term financial commitment. For us the most important thing for establishing and maintaining positive lifelong exercise habits is the feelings derived from the team environment” says Nick. “Ultimately what we are trying to create is to give our users the ability to get this "team" feeling across all activities no matter how structured or unstructured these activities may be. We believe the bonds created through sport and physical activity are what allow you to maintain and enjoy exercise long term.”
Within the app, users can create a profile, add and join activity groups and from here organise their own meet-ups and establish their own routines. Users may do this to assist in training for an event, to simply meet new people or to break the routine of doing something by themselves.
heyfit is available to download now on the App Store and Google Play and is supported by the heyfit "Social Sessions" which gives Kiwis access to high quality social fitness events, in conjunction with clubs, organisations and brands across New Zealand.
"You never know where it may take you, the people you may meet and the memories you will create.”
