Nationwide Pedal for Plunket relay hits final stages

Plunket volunteers and Warehouse staff are nearing the end of a nationwide cycle to raise money for Plunket’s community services.

Two parallel relays in the South and North Island will finish tomorrow, with events in Invercargill and Wellington to mark the occasion.

Pedal for Plunket has made a record $354,000 so far, with donations still coming in. It is a way to raise funds and awareness of the work Plunket does to support children and their families. The 16-day event began on 8 march at Cape Reinga in the North Island and Port Puponga in the South Island, and has stopped at 88 of New Zealand’s 92 Warehouse stores.

In the South Island, The Warehouse Invercargill is hosting an event to send the riders off, including medal-winning cyclist Alison Shanks, with a BBQ and activities for children.
When: Thursday 23rd March from 9:45am (riders depart for Bluff at 11am)
Where: The Warehouse Invercargill

In the North Island there will be a series of activities and a BBQ at the completion of the event at The Warehouse in Lyall Bay.
When: Thursday 23rd March from 11.30am (when cyclists will begin arriving)
