Champion Freight and SCOUTS New Zealand join forces for the environment

SCOUTS New Zealand has a new partner - Champion Freight - a New Zealand owned and operated freight forwarding company that specialises in international sea freight. Champion Freight have committed to offsetting their carbon footprint by planting 1 tree for each container they export. In order to make this a reality, they have become an official Programme Partner of SCOUTS New Zealand.

As a Programme Partner of SCOUTS New Zealand, companies can benefit from the reach of the National Award Scheme and Programme that is run for 15,000+ youth members. This particular partnership involves a two pronged support model which includes funding an annual tree planting: Trees for Containers, as well as becoming an Award Scheme Champion by sponsoring the Scouts Section ‘Conservation’ Badge.

The inaugural tree planting event will take place on Sunday 11th June 2017, from 10am - 2pm. If wanting to attend, meet at the Churchward Park Scout Hall in Blenheim and bring sturdy shoes, warm clothes, hat (both sun and warm), bottle of water, a spade (if you have one) and lots of energy!
