- A must-win match for both teams; the Mystics sitting in 3rd on the ladder, and the Magic in 4th.

- The Mystics have won both meetings between the sides in the 2017. When the sides last met in Round 7, the Mystics defeated the Magic 59-55 in Hamilton.

- The Magic is coming off a 59-78 loss to the Steel in Auckland on Super Sunday. They currently sit in fourth place on the ladder, outside the top 3 for the first time this season.

- The Mystics are coming off a 60-54 win over the Stars on Super Sunday in Auckland. They currently sit in third place on the ladder after Super Sunday.

- The Steel has won both meetings between the two sides in 2017. When the sides last met in Round 7 in Dunedin the Steel beat the Tactix 61-55.

- The Steel’s 90-41 win over the Tactix in Round 4 set the highest score in the ANZ Premiership and biggest winning margin of 49-goals.

- The Steel is coming of a 78-59 victory over the Magic on Super Sunday in Auckland and remains undefeated.

- The Steel has secured hosting rights for the ANZ Premiership Grand Final on June 28 in Invercargill.

- Jess Moulds made her long-awaited return to elite Netball on Super Sunday when she took the court against the Pulse making her ANZ Premiership debut.

- The Pulse is coming off a 56-37 win over the Tactix on Super Sunday in Auckland and sit in second place on the ladder.

- The Stars are coming off a 60-54 loss to the Mystics on Super Sunday in Auckland.

- When the teams met in Round 7, the Pulse’s 18-goal win was their biggest in their Club’s 10-year history.
