“Yossi’s journey, particularly once he was alone, was the thing that attracted me. The sheer extremity of it is is miraculous. Whether or not you believe in miracles in the traditional sense, it was against the odds. The investigation of the politics of friendship, and how that can change in a very extreme environment, was also a fascinating part of the film for me.”
