Vietnamese Independence Day
Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) will hold a flag raising to commemorate Vietnamese Independence Day. Held at the SIT flag pole opposite the SIT Café at 8.30am on Friday 1 September, staff, students and anyone interested is welcome to attend. Invercargill Mayor Tim Shadbolt and SIT Chief Executive Penny Simmonds will also be in attendance out of respect to the Vietnamese students studying at SIT.
Tea and coffee will be served at the SIT Café after the flag raising which is held to commemorate the Vietnam Declaration of Independence from France on September 2, 1945.
