Waikato's Premier Family Halloween Event Returns

Press Release - For immediate Release:

Waikato's Premier Family Halloween Event Returns for Its 15th Year

Treats in the Park - Halloween event for kids of all ages

The family favourite event that has been sending kids and adults alike into full blown spooky madness for the last 15 years is back! Massive inflatable rides, 8 Treat Stations, food stalls, entertainment, fun activities, community info, skate competition and the annual costume competitions will fill Elliott Park onTuesday October 31st.

Now in its 15th year, Treats in the Park is a safe opportunity to celebrate and collect some great treats while coming together as a community. Looking through the events facebook page some of the comments are a testament to the memories the event has created. "We love taking the kids every year, I don't think I've missed a year yet! We challenge ourselves as parents to dress up with the kids for Treats in the Park too, our little family got quite a few looks last year! Can't wait to see what we put together this year! " writes one mum.

"Love the community vibe it has. This will be our 3rd event we are going to attend and its the best thing ever. It's such a small price to pay for our kids safety. Keeps our tamariki safe from door knocking and now my daughter gets to be involved with the running of the event, which she is so excited to be doing. I only hope that events such as these would be initiated everywhere for Halloween."

Community Centre Manager Neil Tolan says that the volunteering aspect is one of the most important parts in the Treats mix, "We have volunteers who once came in prams and parents helping out man the treat stations who were on the other side once awaiting their packets of seeds or bags of popcorn. Seeing the event help people grow into caring for their community and giving back, while putting smiles on the faces of the kids makes you feel like we're doing something right."
