With one month to go, new Hiakai Hangi event announced today

Plus second release of Bank of Melbourne World’s Longest Lunch tickets

Polynesian culture and culinary traditions will be celebrated at the 2018 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival presented by Bank of Melbourne (16-25 March), with prominent NZ born and raised chefs taking part in a Hangi.

On sale today, Hiakai Hangi will see diners enjoy canapés while the Hangi is lifted from the earth before sitting down to a family style dinner on the grounds of Melbourne Museum at dusk on Sunday 18 March. The four-course menu will be matched with Victorian wines from NZ born producers.

Chefs taking part in this unique dining experience include:

Monique Fiso – Hiakai founder and chef, New Zealand
Morgan McGlone – Belle's Hot Chicken and Natural History Bar & Grill, Australia
Michael Meredith – Merediths, New Zealand
Ben Shewry – Attica, Australia
Dave Verheul – Town Mouse and Embla, Australia

After selling out on launch, additional tickets have today been released for Bank of Melbourne World’s Longest Lunch.
