OGLOW Winter Solstice – One Night Only

23 MAY 2018

The hill side of Mt Ngongotaha will be awash with colour and light on the evening of Thursday 21 June 2018 in celebration of this year’s Winter Solstice – the shortest day of the year.

OGLOW, hosted by OGO Rotorua will be the first ever night time downhill ball rolling event. Well known for their day time adventures, this is the first time that people will have the chance to experience OGO’s iconic Rotorua activity under the cover of darkness. With a specialised lighting set up, including lighting up the balls, this event is set to add another dimension of excitement and exhilaration to the experience of downhill ball rolling.

“Winter in Rotorua can be a little dark and gloomy, so we’ve decided to bring a touch of light and excitement to shortest day of the year and we are hoping this event can become a regular in the Rotorua winter events calendar” Anna Rodgers, OGO Rotorua Sales and Marketing Manager.

All three OGO tracks will be on offer for the evening including the newest addition the MEGA Track, the steepest, longest and fastest ball rolling track in the world.

“All the rides during the event will be H2OGO rides, which means we add 40 litres of toasty warm water into the ball with you and with the OGOs lite up also, it’ll be just like riding in a giant, glowing bath tub of warm water! We anticipate the weather will be chilly however we have hot tubs at the top and bottom of the hill, pot belly fireplace on the deck and even our changing rooms have heaters to keep you warm. Then after you’ve ridden, the Terrace Kitchen team will be on hand with a gourmet BBQ and beverages to keep everyone nice and cosy throughout the evening”
