BRAVO to our unsung heroes!
18 June 2018
It’s National Volunteer Week and SCOUTS
New Zealand wishes to sincerely thank our 5,000 amazing
volunteers for their hard work and dedication to Scouting -
delivering over 1 million volunteer hours per year.
To
celebrate National Volunteer Week, we will be announcing
over 120 BRAVO award recipients. The BRAVO award is a peer
and parent/caregiver nominated award introduced recently to
recognise the many unsung heroes in our Movement who have
made significant contributions to Scouting in a variety of
volunteer roles.
This year, we had several volunteers
receive multiple BRAVO nominations - with one volunteer
being nominated 10 times - showing that our people often go
above and beyond the requirements of their
role.
“SCOUTS New Zealand would not exist without
our team of volunteers,” says NationalCommi ssioner Clarke
Truscott. “We sincerely thank each and every one of them
for their support and hard work, whether they are receiving
a BRAVO award or not”.
Volunteers are the lifeblood
of Scouting - whether they are our life members, governance,
national, regional, zone, group or associate volunteers.
They all play a part in helping to increase the positive
impact we have on young people and the community.
