Mt Ruapehu 2019 Season Pass now on sale
PRESS RELEASE
New gondola to look forward to for next season
MT RUAPEHU, 1 OCTOBER 2018: The Mt Ruapehu 2019 Season Pass sale starts today and the pass now includes night skiing.
New Zealand’s best value season pass includes unlimited skiing at the country's two biggest ski areas, Whakapapa and Turoa. Mt Ruapehu offers the longest season in New Zealand of 150 days and the $399 starting price for an adult season pass offers great value.
New for 2019 is the inclusion of Night Skiing, which operates Friday and Saturday nights through the season and every night in the July school holidays. This was previously an extra cost.
Excitement is also building for the new gondola that is due to open at Whakapapa on 1st June 2019, in time for the ski season. The new gondola will offer quicker access up the mountain and reduce queuing time.
Season Pass holders also receive discounts off on-mountain purchases on group lessons, food and beverage, retail and rental equipment, and free skiing at overseas partner resorts such as Verbier, Zermatt and Panorama.
There are also off-mountain discounts closer to home with season passes saving on all sorts of tourism activities like Tongariro River Rafting, Hukafalls Jet and Great Journeys of NZ.
Skiing is a social sport, so all Season Pass holders also receive 4 buddy passes (50% off day passes) to encourage their mates to join them for a day on the slopes.
Season Pass holders can also upgrade for an extra cost to include First Tracks on their pass – access to the slopes an hour before the general public to enjoy the fresh cord and uncrowded laps.
Season Passes purchased in October can be used from 15th October 2018 until closing day on 22nd October 2019. Not only is a Season Pass great value, it also means pass holders can head straight to the ski lifts avoiding queues.
There are also special student, infant, child, youth, super and super super rates. The season pass prices increase progressively from November 1 through until May 2019 when a full price adult pass will cost $1,299.
