Shoe School presents Frankenfoot
Get your freak on at this years Wellington Fringe Festival with ‘FRANKENFOOT’ all-age workshops.
Participants will be shown how to reassemble shoe parts in unexpected combinations. The process will also involve plunging the finished Frankenfeet into vats of radioactive waste, transforming them into hideously deformed shoes of superhuman size and strength.
This is the inaugural presentation of Frankenfoot in Wellington, which has previously run in Dunedin 2015-2016, winning ‘Most original concept’ (2016).
Frankenfoot wrangler Lou Clifton (Shoe School) says Frankenfeet made during previous years would mysteriously disappear in the night. ‘We don’t know where they’d go, but we suspect they were on the city streets, fighting crime.’
Lou is excited to be bringing her weird shoe science to an innocent and unsuspecting Wellington audience. ‘We’re totally freaked out. It’s delightful’. Cue maniacal laughter.
Frankenfoot shoes will be on display in the Shoe School window Saturday 9th-23rd March.
Frankenfoot is the brain-child of Shoe School. Shoe School opened in Newtown October 2016 by shoemaker Lou Clifton, who teaches students how to make custom shoes, sandals and sneakers.
