Tourism operator Southern Discoveries is ready to celebrate the Chinese New Year with its visitors to Queenstown and Milford Sound.
With one in five of its guests hailing from China, the company and all of its staff, from head office through to its operational teams, are getting behind the festivities in a variety of ways.
With the Year of the Pig kicking off in early February, Southern Discoveries will mark the occasion with themed uniforms, store decorations, traditional Chinese New Year gifts and special food offerings on its Milford Sound Scenic Cruise, including delicious fresh dumplings and fragrant green tea.
In Queenstown, the company is also looking forward to introducing guests to the lucky pigs at the Mt Nicholas Farm Experience.
The Chinese New Year officially begins on Tuesday, February 5, with celebrations taking place until February 19. The pig is one of 12 zodiac animals in Chinese culture and is considered a symbol of wealth and good fortune.
