Demand is booming for “boomer” models to appear in advertising campaigns. This reflects the growing trend towards age diversity and a celebration of beauty at any age.
In response to increasing demand, on Friday 1 March Silverfox Management, the country’s first and only agency to exclusively represent mature age models will hold a huge open casting to recruit new faces.
Rebecca Swaney, Managing Director of Silverfox Management NZ says, “Demand for age diverse talent is bigger than ever so we’re looking for men and women with presence and personality in all ages over 30, sizes and backgrounds to join our books.”
“It’s great to see this trend as it shows how brands are catering better than ever to their customers - new research shows more than two thirds of women over 40 feel in the prime of their life, so it’s no surprise purchase intent doubles when people see age relatable models in advertising.”
NZ has been home to some definitive age-positive campaigns, where designers including Karen Walker, Lonely Lingerie and Repertoire have trail blazed age-diversity in campaigns, by reimagining how older models can take a leading role and appeal to a mass market.
