SIX60 Does It Again
SIX60 Does It Again
9 March, 2019- Just two weeks after SIX60’s history making Western Springs Stadium concert, the band returned to the city where it all started, playing to 20,000 fans at Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium tonight.
The concert was announced just three months ago, after Dunedin fans campaigned hard for the band to come back to Dunedin, and tonight they were rewarded with a 25 song set celebrating the band’s career to date. The show included a special appearance from Maori All Black Hoani Matenga, the band’s original bassist who left SIX60 to pursue a professional rugby career.
Tonight’s concert was the band’s second largest headline show, and is believed to be the biggest South Island concert by a New Zealand band.
Promoter Dave Munro from Eccles Entertainment says: “Our minds are blown at the trajectory of this band’s career so far and we’re really excited about our plans with SIX60 for the future.”
“These two concerts have been an incredible experience for everyone involved. 70,000 fans, two nights, what more can we say? Astonishing.”
