Wanted - Poems On The Theme Of ‘Generations’ For Unique Anthology

Landing Press is calling for poems on the theme of ‘generations’ for its next anthology.

‘Generations’ is a big idea,” says Adrienne Jansen, Landing Press publisher. “We want poems about grandparents, parents, grandchildren, changes in generations across countries and cultures, history, tough stories (generations of unemployment for instance), knowledge passed through generations – at home, on the marae, in the church or temple – continuity through generations, change between generations. We want poems that reflect the diversity of Aotearoa New Zealand.”

“And we don’t just want poems by experienced poets. We want poems from people who maybe have never written before. If you’re a first-time writer, keen to get involved, but in need of a little help getting started, please get in touch.”

For those interested in taking up the challenge, submissions of up to three poems (each a maximum of 40 lines) should be emailed to Landing Press by 31 August 2022. Each poem should be in a Word doc (not as a pdf), on a separate page along with name and contact details (email address, postal address and phone number). Poems can be submitted in languages other than English, accompanied by an English translation.

Poems and requests for help should be emailed to

landingpressgenerations@gmail.com.

Poems (including handwritten poems) can also be posted to: Landing Press, 97 Tireti Road, Titahi Bay, Porirua 5022.

Both anthologies feature writers from across Aotearoa New Zealand.
