Kiwi English Class Goes Viral

Auckland teacher and comedian Greg Goodyer has recently gone super viral on TikTok with two of his class videos.
One video has received nearly seven million views. It involves a class of international students trying (and failing) to give CPR to a classmate who has passed out, having just seen a video of her boyfriend "kissing another girl."
The other video - Wasabi Woman - was filmed in Auckland's Albert Park. Super hero Wasabi Woman ("I love sushi, and I'm hot") fights off enemies by combining martial arts with "extreme adjectives". To date the video has been viewed over five million times on TikTok and Youtube and has even inspired several fan videos.
Goodyer- a former John Key impersonator - introduced comedy into his teaching to make it more fun and realistic. He puts the success down to the Kiwi DIY attitude : "What I have learned is if you are keen to give it a go, and have a good script - virtually anyone can be funny. You don't have to be a trained actor." He is keen to use his unique Kiwi sense of humour to help attract tourists and international students back to New Zealand.
