Two Scoop Ice Cream Revealed As Shelley And Steve Ferguson On The Masked Singer NZ

7 August 2022 - The Masked Singer NZ is back and better than ever! The Block NZ: Redemption judge Shelley Ferguson and her multi-sport Olympian husband Steve Ferguson were unmasked on tonight’s episode, exclusive to Three and ThreeNow. The celebrity panellists were kept on their toes by this dynamic duo, incorrectly guessing Laura McGoldrick and Martin Guptill, Art and Matilda Green, and more.

With a career spanning 20 years as a stylist and magazine editor, Shelley Ferguson is a familiar face to Kiwi audiences for her judging role on The Block NZ: Redemption, currently airing on Three and ThreeNow. Her athlete husband Steve Ferguson competed at the Olympics in 2000 for swimming, before turning his attention to canoeing, where he competed in three straight Olympics. In 2021, Steve was Team NZ’s grinder at the America’s Cup.

The pair sang a sweet rendition of ‘’Something Stupid” on tonight’s episode, going up against Retro Robot who performed “Believer”. On being a part of the global phenomenon format, the duo commented: “We grew up with the quote ‘often licked, never beaten’, so we try to give any challenge a go. This time we were unsurprisingly very beaten, but the experience of Two Scoop Ice Cream is already a much-loved moment for our friends and family.”

Award-winning comedian and celebrity guessing panellist Paul Ego added: “Big ups to any married couple who are prepared to co-reside inside an ice cream. I have trouble even sharing a duvet with my wife.”

New episodes of The Masked Singer NZ air every Sunday at 7pm on Three and ThreeNow. The hit show is based on the South Korean series King Of Mask Singer, which has since inspired hugely popular American, British and Australian versions.
