Regal Rose Revealed As Antonia Prebble On The Masked Singer NZ
14 August 2022 - The Masked Singer NZ is back and better than ever! Actress Antonia Prebble was unmasked on tonight’s episode, exclusive to Three and ThreeNow. The celebrity panellists were kept on their toes by Antonia’s performance, incorrectly guessing Keisha Castle-Hughes, Lisa Chappell, Hayley Westenra and Lisa Carrington.
Antonia Prebble is a familiar face to Kiwi audiences from her starring roles on hit comedy-drama series’ Outrageous Fortune and Westside. Her extensive TV and film credits also include the 2017 re-make of Pork Pie, Would I Lie To You and The Almighty Johnsons. In 2018, Antonia took home Best Actress at the New Zealand Television Awards for her portrayal of Rita West in Westside.
Antonia sang ‘Time After Time’ on tonight’s episode, going up against Magic Monster who performed ‘It’s Not Unusual’. On being a part of the global phenomenon format, Antonia commented: “I loved my time on The Masked Singer NZ. I have never done anything remotely like that before, so it was definitely outside my comfort zone, but I really enjoyed the experience. It was a lot of silly, rather absurd fun! And having the judges guess that I was Hayley Westenra was the icing on the cake - that was completely unexpected and something I will be dining out on for years to come!”
Award-winning country singer-songwriter and celebrity guessing panellist Tami Neilson added: “All my life, I’ve scoffed at game show contestants who can’t get the answer right, yelling at the screen, “Come on, it’s so obvious!” And now I am one of those people! This one was so tough and Antonia is such a queen - I had no idea she had such a beautiful singing voice, so she had me stumped!”
New episodes of The Masked Singer NZ air every Sunday at 7pm on Three and ThreeNow. The hit show is based on the South Korean series King Of Mask Singer, which has since inspired hugely popular American, British and Australian versions.
