As such Urban Dream Brokerage is very proud to be able to collaborate with VJ Cubeman on ‘Shoot for the Stars’, to bring some vital energy to Te Aro.
Join us throughout the Courtney place/Cuba Street precinct from Thursday April 17th to Saturday May 3rd, from 7pm each evening. Watch in awe as VJ Cubeman and his collaborators harness the beauty of electronic media and projection art, transforming structures around our central city into captivating living canvases that celebrate our unique urban environment.
Using a combination of projectors and custom software aimed toward transforming ordinary surfaces and unique details of structures, playing with interactive, colorful artworks that will constantly meld & change. This process leaves no permanent mark—only a temporary, beautiful transformation of our city’s structures.
“Wellington is a city full of creativity and potential, yet some of its most beautiful urban features often go unnoticed. Through this project, I hope to reignite a sense of wonder and excitement, inviting residents and visitors to rediscover their city and see it through a new lens. It’s about creating moments of magic and joy that make Wellington an even more vibrant and welcoming place to live and explore”
Taking a collaborative approach VJ Cubeman will also be inviting local artists to take part, allowing them to contribute and to learn how to “paint with light” using the unique system. ‘Shoot for the Stars’, looks to bring new art to the public, as well as fostering a sense of community and encouraging creativity in new forms.. This dual approach ties in beautifully with Urban Dream Brokerage’s collaborative ethos. .
Join us to celebrate this unique way to view our cityscape. Often a VJ is hidden from our view, working their magic in secret behind the scenes. See their magic live, nerd out on their tech setup.
