CAYZA Empowers Healing With New Single ‘Let My People Go’
Rising Samoa-Aotearoa artist CAYZA has released his Chosen Records debut single ‘Let My People Go’ for NZ Music Month – a bold call for freedom, healing and hope.

The raw, timely track shines a light on the lived realities of rangatahi mental health in his hometown of Maraenui, and across Aotearoa and the Pacific.
Blending spoken word with soul-infused production, ‘Let My People Go’ is a powerful social observation and a cry for release from the emotional entrapment many young people face today.
“This track came from a real place,” says CAYZA.
“I’d been carrying these thoughts for a while about what’s happening in our communities, in Hawke’s Bay and even in back Samoa. When I heard the beat, everything poured out. I didn’t need to write it down, I just knew it needed to be said.”
Written and produced by CAYZA – mixed and mastered by Chosen Records’ Munashe Tuwe, A.K.A. Iconic Sound, the single samples 1814’s song of the same name, a link that hit CAYZA with immediate emotional resonance. The video was co-produced by CAYZA and Moses Ratumu.
“The original track is about the story of Moses. That really hit me – because we’ve got people today who feel trapped too. Trapped by depression, pressure and also grief. I wanted to speak to them. To say, it's OK to let that go,” says CAYZA.
CAYZA’s journey from home studio sessions to the One Love 2025 stage marks a new chapter – and this release, he says, is only the beginning.
Signed to Chosen Records, CAYZA is now working on new material, with plans to release an EP that continues to share his message of faith, resilience and upliftment.
"CAYZA embodies the true creative spirit of Chosen Records, and has an incredibly bright future ahead of him,” says CEO of Chosen Records, Mac Andrae.
Encouraging the next generation to pursue creative pathways, CAYZA mentors Polynesian students at his old high school.
“It’s about legacy – not just making music, but showing others that you can do it too. That’s the future I want to build.”
‘Let My People Go’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
