Celebrants Gather In Wellington For Biennial National Conference

Celebrants from across Aotearoa New Zealand will converge in Wellington this coming weekend for Celebrants Aotearoa’s Biennial National Conference, an inspiring two-day event bringing together industry professionals from every corner of the country.

The conference is the largest gathering of celebrants in New Zealand and offers an opportunity for members to connect, learn, and be inspired. Attendees include celebrants who officiate weddings, funerals, baby namings, vow renewals, civil unions, and a wide variety of other ceremonies that mark life’s most important moments.

This year’s programme features a rich line-up of keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and networking events, covering everything from water cremation and healthy grieving to cultural inclusivity and business growth, marketing and AI strategies for the celebrant profession. The conference will also celebrate excellence in the industry, recognising the dedication and creativity of Celebrants Aotearoa’s members.

Celebrants Aotearoa President-Elect Anna Flanagan says the conference is a vital opportunity for celebrants to sharpen their skills and strengthen their professional network.

“Our role as celebrants is deeply personal. We meet people at some of the most important and emotional times of their lives. This conference is about ensuring our members are supported, skilled, and inspired to deliver ceremonies that truly matter. The knowledge and energy shared here will flow back into communities all over New Zealand,” Flanagan says.

With celebrants travelling from all over the country, the Wellington conference will be a hub of ideas, culture, and connection. The event reinforces Celebrants Aotearoa’s commitment to professionalism, inclusivity, and the continued growth of celebrancy as a valued profession in Aotearoa.
