Snoop Dogg Announces One-Night-Only New Zealand Show With A Unique Two-in-one Experience

Hip hop legend and global pop culture icon Snoop Dogg is coming to Auckland for a NZ-first, one night only show.

The Doggfather himself will take over the stage at Auckland’s Due Drop Arena on September 20 for the Snoop Dogg vs DJ Snoopadelic show, a New Zealand-first, two-in-one experience. The show will see the West Coast legend not only perform a live set of his biggest hits, he will also deliver a DJ set as DJ Snoopadelic.

Opening for Snoop Dogg at this R18 show at Due Drop Events Centre are Kiwi hip hop icon Savage and rising star Revus. Tickets go on sale on Monday, September 1.

Ange Matias from Hit Up Ange says Snoop Dogg is a global music icon and she can’t wait to have him in New Zealand in September.

“Snoop Dogg will be giving us a hybrid show that he has never performed in New Zealand. It’s a New Zealand-first. Snoop is an icon and if you’re a fan of classic hip hop to funk, soul, and West Coast bangers, you won’t want to miss it,” Ange said.

Snoop Dogg is a pioneer and a global music icon, who was introduced in the early 90s through Dr Dre and rose to fame with his debut album Doggystyle, which featured classics like Gin and Juice, Who Am I? (What’s My Name?), Gz and Hustlas, and Ain’t No Fun. His standout feature on Dr Dre’s The Chronic, also helped cement his place in hip hop.

He has evolved since his gangsta rap beginnings to become a pop culture fixture. Snoop Dogg has delivered numerous chart-topping hits over the years, including Drop It Like It’s Hot and Beautiful with Pharrell, Young, Wild and Free featuring Wiz Khalifa and Bruno Mars, and Sweat featuring David Guetta to name a few.

He has collaborated with artists across genres, from rap legends like Tupac Shakur, Dr Dre, Nate Dogg, Ice Cube, 50 Cent and Eminem to pop and R&B stars like Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Akon, Jason Derulo and Charlie Wilson. His ability to adapt and connect with diverse musical styles has made him a true legend in the music industry.

Over his 30-plus year career, Snoop has released more than 20 studio albums, sold more than 35 million albums, and earned countless accolades, including Grammy nominations, BET Awards, MTV Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Catch Snoop Dogg at Due Drop Events Centre on September 20. Tickets go on sale from 6pm on September 1 at eventfinda.co.nz
