Dynamic Whanganui blues band BB & THE BULLETS are ready to hit the road this September and October for 12 North Island dates to celebrate the upcoming international release of their debut album HIGH TIDE on Friday 12 September.

The tight, three piece blues rock outfit have garnered a reputation for their powerful and moving live performances, drawing comparisons to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Peter Green and Jeff Beck, while firmly putting their own stamp on the timeless medium that is the blues.

Now the trio are ready to hit the road, taking their killer live show across the motu through September and October, with summer festival dates to follow through November - January.

The band are also thrilled to announce the upcoming international release of their 12-track debut album HIGH TIDE through iconic French Blues label Dixiefrog Records, in the United States, UK, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Recorded in Whanganui at Producer and band leader Brian Baker’s Nixon Street recording studio after the band had established itself by gigging around the local circuit. Band members Brad McMillan (drums), Stu Duncan (bass), and Brian Baker (guitar / vocals) couldn’t be happier, saying: “Working with Dixiefrog and having our record released in Europe, UK, the States and New Zealand is a dream come true for our little Whanganui band. We hope everybody comes along for the ride!”

BB & The Bullets have released three well received singles to date off the album as a build-up; debut single ‘Something In The Water’; album title track ‘High Tide’; and their blues-soaked rendition of the Beatles classic ‘I Want You (She’s So Heavy)’ which is a huge fan favourite at their live shows.

Says Brian: “I Want You (She’s So Heavy) is a head-turning show stopper from our live set, and really shows off the bands groove. We’ve tried to be respectful of the original John Lennon song, but also put the Bullets stamp on it. I have no idea why this song hasn’t been covered by more contemporary blues artists. It’s such a perfect storm.”

To date, all three singles have enjoyed some excellent blues radio attention, including airplay on Radio New Zealand and around the country, as well as in Germany, USA, and Canada, with ‘High Tide’ charting at #4 on Roots Music Charts in Australia!

Home country of their label Dixiefrog Records has plenty of great things to say about BB & The Bullets, with Paris Move Magazine giving the album a very favourable review, ranking it as a ‘red heart’ favourite, as has French outlet Zicazic Magazine, and the title track single ‘High Tide’ has made the weekly playlist of Rolling Stone Magazine, France.

With a well-deserved reputation for their compelling live shows, BB & The Bullets audiences are always wowed by the power and intensity of their performances. It is clearly evident that the blues scene is alive and vibrant on Antipodean shores, grab your mates and don’t miss your chance to check out a blues-rock experience like no other with BB & The Bullets!
