New World Records Set On Final Day Of Championships
The final day of racing at the Aon New Zealand Pool Rescue Championships 2025 has concluded and standards were at an all-time high as athletes secured both national and world record times.

Surf Life Saving New Zealand’s GM for Sport, Zac Franich, said; “It’s been an incredible three days of competition. The high standard of today’s racing shows how much work our athletes have put in. It’s been brilliant to see the camaraderie between clubs as well as the fierce competition in the pool.”
The winner of the Paul Kent Memorial Trophy was Mairangi Bay Surf Life Saving Club, with an overall score of 420 points.
Three new world records:
- Mairangi Bay SLSC’s team (H. Klouwens, Z. Crawford, F. Eadie, R. Kwan) set the world record in the Open Mixed Lifesaver Relay with a time of 1.43.20
- Madison Kidd from Whangamata SLSC set the world record in the Open female 100m Mannikin Tow with Fins with a time of 54.20
- Sarah Windsor from Alexandra Headlands SLSC in Australia set the world record for Masters female 45-49 100m Rescue Medley with a time of 1.23.74

New national records:
- Mairangi Bay SLSC (R. Peck, R. Stoetzer, L. Clark, S. Brown) set the NZ record for the Open Male Pool Lifesaver Relay with a time of 1.46.91
- Midway SLSC (C. Willoughby , T. Newman E. Sutton, E. Petro) set the NZ record for Open Female Pool Lifesaver Relay with a time of 2.14.61
- Rae Kwan from Mairangi Bay SLSC set the NZ record for Open Female 100m Rescue Medley with a time of 1.08.76
- Mairangi Bay SLSC (I. Vaughan, K. Alacron, C. Hagstrom, C. Barr) set the NZ record for U17 Mixed 4x25m Manikin Relay with a time of 1.24.30
- Omanu SLSC (O. Hansen, C. Shivnan, M. Bartlett, G. Richardson ) set the NZ record for U19 Mixed 4x25m Manikin Relay with a time of 1.23.54
- Mairangi Bay SLSC (L. Clark, F. Eadie S. Brown, S. Poching) set the NZ record for Open Male 4x25m Manikin Relay with a time of 1.09.25
