Finalists Announced For 2025 Iwi Radio Awards

Te Whakaruruhau o Ngā Reo Irirangi Māori Inc. (WHA) is proud to announce the finalists for the 2025 Iwi Radio Awards, which return this year to honour excellence in te reo Māori broadcasting.

Scheduled for Saturday 18 October 2025 at Pettigrew Green Arena in Napier, the Awards bring together more than 500 iwi broadcasters, whānau, and stakeholders from across Aotearoa to celebrate the unique contribution of iwi radio.

“This year’s finalists demonstrate the breadth, depth, and creativity of iwi radio — from rangatahi-driven shows and reo Māori excellence to cutting-edge digital platforms,” says WHA Chair Peter-Lucas Jones.

“Iwi radio remains a force for uplifting te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and kaupapa Māori across the motu.”

The awards are proudly supported by Te Māngai Pāho and will be livestreamed through Whakaata Māori and across iwi radio social media platforms from 6:00pm.
