Japanese Film Festival 2025 Brings The Charm Of Japan To Auckland
The Consulate-General of Japan in Auckland, in cooperation with the Japan Foundation, is delighted to announce the Japanese Film Festival 2025, to be held from 6–9 November 2025 at Academy Cinemas, Auckland.

This annual festival celebrates the rich diversity of Japanese culture and society through film, offering Auckland audiences a unique opportunity to experience Japan’s contemporary cinema on the big screen.
This year’s lineup features six acclaimed films, including Yudo, Step, and Not Quite Dead Yet, each showcasing different faces of Japanese life, emotion, and creativity. Whether through heartfelt family stories, quirky comedies, or inspiring dramas, the festival aims to connect people across cultures through the universal language of cinema.
All screenings are free of charge, but booking is required via the Academy Cinemas website.
