New Zealand Screen Awards Reveal Screen Personality Of The Year Contenders For 2025
The New Zealand Screen Awards is delighted to announce this year’s finalists for the highly anticipated 2025 Screen Personality of the Year category.
The Screen Personality of the Year award is the only award decided entirely by the public and has become a fan favourite. The award honours outstanding talent across the screen industry, recognising those who capture the hearts of audiences nationwide.
Each year, thousands of fans cast their votes to support their favourite screen personalities, making it one of the most talked-about categories of the awards ceremony. For the first time, film personalities are also eligible, expanding the celebration to include Aotearoa’s favourite stars of both television and film.

Previous winners have included some of New Zealand’s most recognisable and beloved faces, such as Shortland Street’s Bella Kalolo (2024), Below Deck’s Aesha Scott (2023), Celebrity Treasure Island host Bree Tomasel (2022), social media sensation Nicola ‘Nix’ Adams (2021), Seven Sharp's Hilary Barry (2020), former Breakfast host Matty McLean (2019), 1 News’ Hayley Holt (2018), and former Seven Sharp host Toni Street (2017). Each has left their own mark on the nation’s screens and helped set the standard for excellence in local television.
Online voting for the 2025 Screen Personality of the Year is now officially open on the New Zealand Screen Awards website, giving fans across the country the chance to have their say. Voting closes at 11:59pm on Friday, 14 November.
In addition, the NZSA will honour exceptional contributions to the screen industry with the esteemed Screen Legend Award, to be announced in the near future.

21st at a red-carpet gala event to be held at the Viaduct
Events Centre. The ceremony will be hosted by the
