Local artist ILYA Volykhine is opening the doors to his Devonport studio for a special Open Studio Weekend on November 22–23, from 11am to 4pm at 9 Grahame Street, Devonport.
This intimate and engaging event offers visitors the chance to experience new works from Volykhine’s acclaimed Pages series, as well as a curated selection of recent paintings from his stockroom. Both original works and fine art prints will be available for purchase, offering something for collectors and art enthusiasts alike.
“It’s always rewarding to share where and how the work comes to life,” says Volykhine.“The Open Studio is as much about conversation and connection as it is about the art itself.”
Represented by Flagstaff Gallery (Devonport), Exhibitions Gallery (Wellington), and Gallery De Novo (Dunedin), Volykhine’s work is held in public and private collections worldwide. Known for his evocative storytelling and richly textured paintings, his art continues to captivate audiences both in New Zealand and abroad.
