Culture Of Peace Art Exhibition – Opening Announcement
The Culture of Peace Art Exhibition opens to the public this Tuesday, 20 January, at 12:30pm - the Pūmanawa Community Exhibition Space, Level 1, 4 Worcester Boulevard, The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora, Christchurch.
Organised by World Beyond War Te Waipounamu South Island, the exhibition brings together works from more than 20 local artists, each contributing creative expressions that champion peace, harmony, and nonviolence.
Christchurch, the first city in Aotearoa New Zealand to be formally designated a Peace City in 2002, provides a fitting backdrop for this exhibition and its message.
Exhibition Coordinator Maan Alkaisi says the Te Waipounamu South Island chapter of World BEYOND War aims to promote Aotearoa New Zealand as one of the safest and most peaceful nations globally, advocating for demilitarisation, nonviolent conflict resolution, and the cultivation of a global culture of peace.
