Ayrburn Classic Gears Up For A Weekend Of Motoring, Style & Hospitality
New Zealand’s premier classic, supercar and modern luxury car festival, the Ayrburn Classic, returns for its second year from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 February 2026. Following a highly successful debut in 2025, the three-day event promises an elevated blend of automotive excellence, lifestyle, fashion and hospitality, set against the stunning Ayrburn precinct in Arrowtown.
Building on the momentum of its inaugural year, the 2026 Ayrburn Classic will showcase more than 500 vehicles spanning every era of motoring excellence – including over 60 Ferraris and 30 Mustangs – alongside New Zealand’s most prestigious automotive and luxury exhibitor displays.
Across the weekend, guests can enjoy a dynamic programme of curated experiences, from Friday’s Tour D’Elegance, Saturday’s live car auction and Sunday’s Fashion on the Field and Awards. It’s shaping up to be a full weekend with on-site demonstrations, exhibitor displays, live music and of course the return of the much-loved Star Insure Showcases on The Dell. Crowd-favourite moments such as the “crackle-off” - with a symphony of engines - add even more spectacle across a programme of new features and immersive experiences, further cementing the Ayrburn Classic as a must-attend fixture on the annual motoring and lifestyle calendar.
Highlights of the 2026 Ayrburn Classic include:
Tour d’Elegance, Friday 20 February
The Ayrburn Classic kicks off with the inaugural Tour d’Elegance, presented by Bayleys. A charity initiative with real drive, this parade will launch the programme in style, seeing a pick of exceptional classic, collector, and supercars cruise from Ayrburn past Arrowtown’s most iconic locations before ascending to the top of Coronet Peak and gliding back to Ayrburn.
Not just for car owners to enjoy, guests can bid for the ultimate ride-along experience, joining renowned drivers such as racing legend Greg Murphy and social media sensation Taylor Serage. All proceeds from the experience will be donated to local charities.
Live Car Auction, Saturday 21 February
The Ayrburn Classic has partnered with Sunday Drive and will be hosting a live car auction, on the Dell, with more than 40 cars going under the hammer, led by award-winning auctioneer Robert Tulp.
Whether you’re in the market for a stunning new vehicle or just want to witness the excitement of live bidding, it’s not to be missed
Ladies’ Day & Fashions on the Field, Sunday 22 February
Sunday is Ladies’ Day – a social celebration including Fashions on the Field presented by Giltrap, spotlighting personal style alongside automotive design, with best dressed female, male, couple and child up for grabs!
Fun for all the Family
New for 2026, a dedicated family area will delight younger guests with hands-on fun, including e-karts, a bouncy castle, complimentary face painting and a photobooth for capturing the memories. Plus, children 12 and under can attend the event for free.
Ayrburn’s founder Chris Meehan, and the driving force behind the Ayrburn Classic, is naturally excited for its second year. “We’ve expanded the programme to include even more exceptional cars, bikes and boats, richer lifestyle experiences and stronger fashion elements. The Ayrburn Classic is evolving into something truly special, and 2026 will take it to the next level.”
