Laneway Festival Wraps Landmark 2026 New Zealand Show

Laneway Festival has wrapped its 2026 New Zealand edition, welcoming more than 35,000 attendees to Auckland for a full day of live music, discovery and community.

Featuring a carefully curated lineup of international and local artists, the 2026 New Zealand show once again reflected Laneway Festival’s long-standing focus on presenting artists at pivotal moments in their careers, alongside rising talent making their first appearances in Aotearoa.

The day was marked by a series of unforgettable live music moments. Kiwi favourite BENEEstepped out as Role Model’s “Sally”, drawing one of the biggest crowd reactions of the afternoon; Alex G played to a massive, devoted crowd, while New York band Geese made their New Zealand debut, marking a significant milestone for one of the most talked-about emerging rock acts of recent years.

PinkPantheress joined BENEE on stage for a surprise appearance during their collaboration ‘Princess’, before returning later for her own set, where her dancers delivered tightly choreographed performances that elevated one of the festival’s funnest pop moments to a whole new level.

Across the site, fans embraced Laneway Festival’s spirit, turning out in handmade looks, glitter, plaid and unapologetic creativity.

Closing the night, global pop phenomenon Chappell Roan delivered a gothic fairytale spectacle complete with large-scale production and pyrotechnics, performing to a completely packed amphitheatre. As the first show of her tour, it set the tone for what is set to be a once-in-a-lifetime Laneway Festival run.

Danny Rogers, Laneway Festival co-founder, said:

“New Zealand brings a special energy every time, and this year really delivered. Bringing more than 35,000 people together for live music, discovery and celebration is exactly what Laneway is about. This was the most ambitious and technically involved show our team has ever delivered in New Zealand, and I couldn’t be prouder of the artists, crew and fans who made it happen.”

Laneway Festival thanks its artists, crew, partners and fans for another memorable New Zealand chapter, and looks forward to returning in 2027.
