Gourmet In The Gardens Shares The Love With Pop-Up Events During The Hamilton Arts Festival Toi Ora Ki Kirikiriroa

Gourmet in the Gardens (GITG) is hitting the road this month, temporarily relocating to two well-loved locations while the Hamilton Arts Festival Toi Ora ki Kirikiriroa activates the Rhododendron Lawn for its twoweek programme.
Food lovers will be able to enjoy their favourite foodtruck dining experience at Te Rapa Raceway on Sunday 22 February and Cambridge Pony Club on Sunday 1 March, bringing the region’s most-loved kai collective to new communities and creating fresh opportunities for locals and visitors to explore different corners of the Waikato and Waipā.
This temporary shift presents an exciting chance for GITG to extend its reach, allowing people to experience the event in settings that carry their own unique character from the lively energy of Te Rapa to the relaxed rural charm of Cambridge. The move reinforces the spirit of connection at the heart of Gourmet in the Gardens, celebrating shared food, community, and new experiences.
Food Truck Events owner and vendor liaison Tania Simpson says the twostop minitour has been embraced by vendors and locals alike.
“Food brings people together and always has,” says Simpson.
“Taking Gourmet in the Gardens into different neighbourhoods keeps that sense of community alive during the festival, while giving people the chance to enjoy the event in places they may not usually visit.”
While these two events are temporary relocations, Food Truck Events sees this as an opportunity to explore what a more mobile, region-wide version of GITG could look like in the future.
