Ruthe, Tanner, & Andrews-Paul Line Up In Boston
Middle distance sensation, Sam Ruthe, is set to race again this weekend in Boston. Ruthe lines up for his final race of his USA campaign on Sunday, he races over 3000m indoors at Boston University. Ruthe is returning to the site of his historic 3:48 mile, this time in the hunt for the final jewel in his U20 records crown. Ruthe holds every U20 record from 800-5000m, bar the 3000m. This is likely to change on Sunday in Boston.
Ruthe’s race has added New Zealand flavour with Sam Idiens set to pace make the attempt. Idiens is running on Scholarship at Virginia Tech University in the USA and he recently broke the New Zealand record in the indoor 1000m.
Sam Tanner will be running in the men’s mile in his final race of his USA campaign. Tanner will be in the hunt for World Indoor and Commonwealth Games standards over the distance.
2025 World Indoor Championships representative Alison Andrews-Paul races in the A race of the women’s 800m. The kiwi middle-distance exponent is now based in Vancouver, Canada and heads across to the Boston meet for her first track event of the season. Formerly of the Wairarapa, Andrews-Paul will be in the hunt for fast marks to help her qualifying hopes for international events in 2026.
Also competing is Thomas Cowan and Sam Idiens in the men’s 800m, Liam Back in the C men’s mile, Kierra Hall runs in the women’s C 800m.
Our pole vault duo of Imogen Ayris and Olivia McTaggart compete again this Saturday in France at the All Star Perche Meeting in Clermont-Ferrand. Ayris enters the meet in the form of her life, having cleared her lifetime best of 4.70m in each of her last three competitions.
McTaggart is building in to her season, with some solid heights at 4.60m earlier in the season.
