Melbourne City FC Wins A-Leagues 2025/26 Club Championship
Melbourne City FC has claimed its second consecutive A-Leagues Club Championship, taking out the combined Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s and Ninja A-League Women’s competition points tally.
This is City’s fourth Club Championship since the trophy’s inception, taking out all but one of the titles after its launch at the beginning of the 2021/22 season.
City’s Club Championship was headlined by the Ninja A-League side’s third consecutive Premiership title as Michael Matricciani’s team picked up 40 points in their 20 matches this season.
Despite this points tally being the lowest in the club’s historic three-peat in the Ninja A-League, City’s Isuzu UTE A-League late season form has seen the Club storm home to overtake Adelaide United and the Newcastle Jets, taking out the crown with two matches remaining in the regular season.
A-Leagues CEO, Steve Rosich said: “Congratulations to Melbourne City on another standout season across the Isuzu UTE A-League and Ninja A-League. The club’s record in the Club Championship is testament to City’s commitment to their men’s and women’s programs, harnessing top talent and continuing to develop some of the best players across our leagues.”
“The Club Championship is a unique tradition in the sporting landscape, where we can celebrate a club’s achievements across both the men’s and women’s competitions. This trophy exemplifies a ‘one club’ approach that we’re incredibly proud to showcase as a code, and Melbourne City continues to set the standard locally and abroad.”
Melbourne City’s next match in the Isuzu UTE A-League Men is against Brisbane Roar FC on Saturday 18 April at Suncorp Stadium as the side pushes to maintain its top six spot. In the Ninja A-League Women, Premier’s Melbourne City FC, has a break for week one of the Finals Series before a two-legged Semi Final showdown starting on the weekend of 1-3 May.
