Mim Jensen Releases The Muse EP Out Now + Touring NZ This May

One of Aotearoa’s most compelling indie artists Mim Jensen, releases her third EP The Muse. An enchanting six-track collection that captures the arc of a tumultuous relationship and the versions of love that exist within it.
Carried by her renowned vocals, The Muse welcomes a fresh world of Mim Jensen, revealing an elevated edge to her already well established signature soul-baring sound. She tells the story of the beginnings of a relationship right through to its end, inviting listeners into the whirlwind of that journey, from sitting in depths of heartbreak to the thrill of running free from it.
Mim confronts these emotions with deep honesty and curiosity, unpacking all of the big questions “Once you see these insecurities I have, will you still love me anyway?” - Mim Jensen. In the stand out single ‘Big Feelings’ Mim opens with lyrics “chasing big feelings, just so I can write again”. Mim explained that writing this became a reminder for her that “it's just as important to be bored and still and seek inspiration that way.” Evidently, The Muse showcases the confident evolution of Mim’s story telling, each song finding a way to turn turmoil into something more tender.
“The Muse explores the beginning and end of a relationship, the highs, the lows, and the kind of love that cracks you open,” Jensen explains. “It’s about being exposed to the darkest parts of yourself, and what it means to sit with that”.

Mim is set to take The Muse on the road this New Zealand Music Month, performing three headline shows beginning at Auckland’s Whammy Bar on Thursday 7 May, followed by Space Academy in Christchurch on Friday 29 May before wrapping up at Pearl Diver in Dunedin on Saturday 30 May. Mim will also be supporting Hudson Freeman (US) at San Fran in Wellington on Friday 1 May and Wednesday (US) at Loons in Christchurch on Saturday 23 May.
Tickets to all dates are on sale now via mimjensen.com.
With Mim’s magnetic presence, The Muse promises to be as equally commanding live as it does through speakers.
