Aranaki Indie-Soul Sensation Fin Rah Zel Drop Upbeat New Single ‘Time Travel’
Building on their reputation for honeyed melodies and high-energy grooves, Taranaki’s own Fin Rah Zel today releases their latest single, ‘TIME TRAVEL’.

A vibrant fusion of contemporary R&B and pop-funk, ‘TIME TRAVEL’ captures a nostalgic yet fresh sound, drawing comparisons to the infectious vibes of Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, and Anderson .Paak.
A musical journey with a sentimental view on personal growth, ‘TIME TRAVEL’ was written and recorded alongside renowned award-winning Producer Devin Abrams.
Lyrically, it’s a track born from shared stories of growing up in the '90s and early 2000s, offering a playful perspective on life's missed opportunities, as the narrative follows a young man’s transformation from the insecurities and self-doubt of youth, to finding a newfound confidence and self-belief.
“Ultimately the song is a playful take on the shots you miss in life, but being able to look back on them and have a laugh at the lessons learnt”, says Fin Rah Zel.
A track of collaborative magic, ‘TIME TRAVEL’’s rich, soulful atmosphere is further elevated by the vocal contributions of Hamo Dell. Providing lush backing vocals, harmonies, and ad-libs, Dell’s presence adds a feminine balance that perfectly complements the track’s overall R&B-pop aesthetic.

Prolific creators of optimistic, catchy summer tunes and heart-tugging songs that hit all the feels, Fin Rah Zel are unapologetic in their aim to deliver warm-hearted messages of connection, love and hope. ‘TIME TRAVEL’ continues the bands streak of delivering their infectious R&B-pop sunshine and dreamy zen vibes to the New Zealand music scene, and this is a track that is as introspective as it is danceable—a true feel-good anthem for 2026.
