Student Job Search Opens at Massey
Student Job Search - Manawatu opened its new office on the Massey Campus this week. Regional Manager, Barry Dowell commented “Massey students will have a dramatically improved service delivery with the new office.”
Located in the former Student Counselling building, a former state house, SJS is in a high profile location on Columbo Road. The new temporary office is an interim measure until the new MUSA Building is completed later in the year.
“Massey students will join the ranks of other university campuses that have a Student Job Search office on campus” said Mr Dowell. After a very successful summer Student Job Search was looking to build on this with the opening of the new office.
“Although student loans will become interest free in April, around one a third of students will receive a living allowance,” says Paul Falloon, President of Massey University Students’ Association “Many students simply do not receive enough to live on.”
Student Job Search is fundamental in maximising student earnings, and is now the third income support measure for students. “It’s great that SJS is now a lot more accessible for Students,” added Mr Falloon.
